2.Issue of declaration of conformity by manufacturer & CE marking
It is a requirement for a Manufacturer to declare conformity (issue of declaration of conformity by manufacturer) when the CE mark is applied to machines and components. There are a number of ways of declaring:
In order to declare conformity beyond doubt, SMC confirm safety of the products by submitting them to a Notified Body who carry out testing in accordance with applied standards. Declaration by the manufacturer is made based on the certificate of compliance issued by a notified body.
SMC product families have been subjected to inspection and test, and certified as conforming to the relevant standards. TUV.GIF Rheinland and Hursley EMC Services are used and both are EC Notified Bodies.
